Getting to the Melbourne Festival

The Festival is held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Wharf. A modern, fully air conditioned venue, located in the heart of Melbourne.

Public transport is the best option with Southern Cross & Flinders Street train stations a few minutes walk away and a tram stop located on the Centre's door step.

Getting there: IMPORTANT

Construction of Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre’s (MCEC) new multi-purpose building is currently underway alongside Convention Centre Place, opposite South Wharf DFO and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf.

Car parking spaces are currently limited within the surrounding construction zone, and in particular, the Exhibition Centre car park (entry off Normanby Road) quickly reaches capacity on busy event days.

We recommend parking at the Siddeley Street Car Park located off Wurundjeri Way which is a short walk across Seafarers Bridge to MCEC. Alternatively, you can park at Crown Casino.

Parking options

The Centre offers limited parking underneath the venue, however it can fill up quickly.

★ There are a number of other car parks surrounding the venue, highlighted here.

★ The Siddeley Street car park, across the river, offers $13 flat rate parking on the weekend.

★ Crown offers $20 flat rate parking in the Multi-level carpark from 11am on Friday & Saturday. View other rates here.

Further MCEC parking rates and information can be found here.

Public transport options

Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations are both a short walk or tram ride to the venue.

Tram route 96, 109 or 12 stop conveniently stop at the doorstep of the Centre.
