House healing with Mitchell Coombes

Did you know that homes and buildings not only have a physical history, they also have an energetic past? If you’ve been feeling drained, run down or sluggish then perhaps it’s time to do some spiritual house healing.

If only the walls could talk... well there’s a whole lot of truth to this old adage, because for psychics and those sensitive to energy they do “talk”. As they say “cleanliness is next to godliness” and the energy of your home is no exception. Here are three simple yet powerful ways to heal the energy of your home and restore harmony…

  • Smudging is an ancient Native American sacred smoke ceremony that has been used for centuries to cleanse negative energy. Try burning a sage smudge stick (available from good new age stores). Begin at your front door and move around to each room of the house directing the smoke using a feather or fan. As you move through each room say out loud “I command all negativity to go… only good shall stay”. Be sure to pay particular attention to the corners of each room, as this is where negative energy can build. Once you are finished, douse the sage under running water and open all windows and doors so the old energy can dissipate.

  • Sea Salt is there a particular room or space in your home that drains your energy? Sea-salt crystals exposed to the air naturally attract and absorb negative energy. Place two tablespoons of sea-salt crystals in each corner of the room and leave them there for 24 hours. Then vacuum them up. Do this once a week for three weeks. An alternative to this ancient technique is to place a Himalayan salt crystal lamp on display.

  • Sound can transform the energy and mood of any space and is extremely effective. A Tibetan monk once taught me to gently clap my hands in a circle motion around my body and the room to shift negative energy – you could try that too. Generally a Tibetan singing bowl or prayer bell is most commonly used for sound clearing, however you can simply play peaceful or upbeat music that lifts your spirit and the energy of the room.
