Sarah Anne Counselling

"I became a counsellor so that I could bring about the change I wished to see in mental health and provide therapy that is forward, progressive, and warm. I did this as over the years I was so frustrated with the therapy that was out there, as well as my friends. I was so tired of seeing therapists that just “didn't get it”, and heard so many similar stories from my friends. I knew that our fast-paced and constantly evolving millennial culture demanded modern therapy, that was progressive in nature and healing for not only the mind, but the spirit. In my practice, I hold space for those going through a hard time, the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies in order to help them find clarity, healing, and the purpose they seek so that they can live their best lives!

I began my counselling journey studying Transpersonal Counseling at Pheonix Institute with a love for Transpersonal Psychology, LGBTQIA+ mental health, and other alternative healing modalities. I have a background in working with children with special needs, dance, funeral service, death care, and embalming.

Over the years, I have studied education support, dance, mortuary science, funeral directing, embalming, and many forms of counselling which is what I love the most.

However, I believe my vast life experience which includes working with grieving families, those bereaved by suicide, and growing up in the LGBTQIA+ community have shaped my passion in how I work with people the most.
A part of what I love about being a counsellor is meeting people wherever they are at, and hearing their valuable and unique stories. I also enjoy seeing people achieve beyond what they ever thought was possible for themselves.
I am a professional counsellor registered with Holistic Therapists Australia, hold a Bachelor of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and uphold the uttermost professional standards completing yearly CPD training and attending regular supervision. I am also registered with the International Institute of Complementary Therapists."
