Spiced Chai poached pears

Chai Harder is a chai concentrate, made by artisan spice-masters in Melbourne from only the best and freshest ingredients.

This delicious recipe:



☆. 3 cup water
☆. ¾ cup maple syrup
☆. 1 cup Chai Harder
☆. 1 cinnamon quill
☆. 3 cardamom pods, crushed
☆. 4 firm pears, peeled

Makes 4 serves

  1. Poach the pears: In a saucepan over high heat, bring water, maple syrup, Chair Addict, cinnamon and cardamom to the boil. Add the pears, reduce to medium heat and cover snugly with a wet piece of baking paper, weighed down wiht a small plate. Simmer for 30 minutes or until soft.
  2. The syrup: Gently remove pears, set aside and bring syrup to a rolling boil for a further 20  minutes to thicken. Spoon the syrup over the pears.
  3. To serve: Enjoy with coconut ice-cream, granola or porridge.
